Nov. 29.  While we wait for the feed to be restored, let me just day that all of the leadership of the US Congress has joined the President for the Funeral of the Gov. and First Lady of Texas.   44 of the nation's 50 Governors are also present.  The President was accompanied to Texas by his sister among others.  They are telling me our feed has been restored.   Here now President Kennedy continuing his remarks:
"We Kennedys have fought and died for our nation and its values.  I served in the Pacific.  My brother died in Europe.  We were willing to die for the freedom this nation represents.  The Connallys were no different. One would have to go back to the Alamo to find a greater sacrifice for freedom.  Stopping the bullets meant for Jackie and myself, provided my family a future and prevented our Republic from a suffering a tragic shock.
The lone assassin, Mr. Oswald,  learned that no one person can bring down our Republic.  The Connallys proved that two individuals can do much to preserve it.  No one person is the Republic.  But all of us are the Republic.  If it stands, it stands because all of us are awake and doing our part.  If it falls, it falls because the majority of us have fallen asleep.
The Connallys have given me the chance to continue to serve as President.  And for that I am eternally grateful..."
